Located in Philadelphia’s Midtown Village, Pearl & Mary is a casual seafood house and oyster bar. Its name is a tribute to owner Michael Schulson’s mother Pearl and his grandmother Mary.

A major renovation opened up and brightened the space, which has an impressive bar with main and private dining room seating. As an added bonus, the floor-to-ceiling windows open to sidewalk seating as weather permits. 

RKA brought Eimer Design’s rustic nautical theme to life through a combination of custom woodwork, oak flooring, and redbrick walls.

The corner property presents two complimentary facades, one on 13th Street and the other on Sansom Street. On 13th, the pale green painted wood, generous fenestration, and a mullioned glass front door are an inviting presence. The design also amplifies the natural light from the Sansom Street facade and guarantees excellent views for patrons and passersby.
