MAC Cosmetics is a major player in the make-up industry, selling a wide range of products. The retailer has two locations at Philadelphia International Airport, one in the B/C Terminal connector and the other in A Terminal.

Materials and colors in the sleek store design mirror MAC’s glossy black packaging and wide eye shadow and lipstick palette. Products are displayed against a backdrop of powder-coated metal panels, custom millwork with integrated LED lighting, mirrors, and high-definition monitors.  

Laying out and fitting all of the recessed lights in the hard ceiling was a challenge because of the airport’s strict rules and regulations. Part of RKA’s approach was to place access panels between each of the light fixtures which streamlined the design, met code requirements, and facilitated maintenance efforts.
