This is the third incarnation of Ellen Yin’s and Robert Sella’s restaurant which opened in 1997 as Fork, and later became High Street on Market. The original location closed in 2020 due to rent increases and the pandemic.

High Street reopened in fall 2023 at a new location in the historic Franklin Building at 101 S. 9th Street. RKA artfully executed the design by Marguerite Rodgers, which “combines refreshed elements from the High Street restaurant brand...with new features that elevate and invite.” 

Always quick to respond and adapt to challenges, we worked closely with the Philadelphia Historical Commission to create a new entrance to the Franklin Building that was functional, attractive, and most importantly did not compromise the historic character of the site.
