Since January 2023, this concession in Terminal A West has been a convenient stop for passengers to purchase local and regional products ranging from apparel, food, gifts, souvenirs, and sports merchandise. Self-checkout and a mobile point-of-sale system are available for a quick checkout.
The 2,000-square-foot, one-stop shop is tailored to the local market. With branded shops inside, Evolve has an assortment of snacks, beverages, and travel essentials such as luggage from Herschel Supply Co., writing instruments from Caran d’Ache and LAMY, apparel from Happy Socks, and furry friends from Build-A-Bear Workshop.
The project required gutting the existing space to prepare it for Evolve’s program. One of the biggest challenges was the absence of a new fiber backbone, sprinkler, and fire alarm systems in the space—all critical components that were not installed by the Department of Aviation. To pass inspection and meet code requirements, RKA coordinated the procurement and integration of these systems into the building’s infrastructure. The project was successfully delivered in collaboration with architect TranSystems and consulting engineer Guth DeConzo.
