BAR SYMON
WHAT WE DID
PHL is now home to one of Iron Chef Michael Symon’s restaurants, Bar Symon. Russ Kelly & Associates constructed a stylish kitchen and taphouse in the middle of the hustle and bustle of airport travelers. This modern eatery features dishes inspired by Chef Michael Symon and they are designed to be comfort food with flare for travelers wanting to grab a bite to eat as they wait for their flight’s departure.

UNIQUE TO THIS PROJECT
RKA completely demolished and rebuilt the 4,200 square-foot anchor space in the D Terminal. The visible kitchen, island bar, and expansive 150-foot open-wall dining area are just some of the architectural touches that RKA excels at. The communal tables, banquet seating, and pub tops are made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes which compliments the red hanging lights at the center of the dining area. RKA also installed new plumbing, HVAC units, a sprinkler system, and kitchen equipment. The beautiful tile and millwork accent the open format and the lack of exterior walls in the D concourse, allowing the diners to enjoy their meal while looking over the runway as they wait for their flight.
